Dr. Alvaro Lopez-Peña,
Founder and CEO of ALP-Sustainable Energy.
With close to 20 years of international experience focused on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition, Álvaro has a deep understanding of both the megatrends and specificities such as sector regulation and new business models.
He has previously worked in strategy consulting, private sector, international organisation, public policy and academic settings (e.g. KPMG, International Renewable Energy Agency, Ph.D. financed by BP and Endesa).
Electrical engineer, Masters in power sector regulation and PhD in energy markets, policy & sustainability. Lecturer on international energy governance, contributor to publications of international energy organizations (IEA, IRENA, REN21, etc.) and speaker at conferences. Building relationships with an extensive professional network in 60+ countries.
Solid technical/analytical background; outstanding interpersonal skills in Spanish, English & French; confident and effective speaker in both layman and expert terms.
